Maratacht is a comprehensive course with a combination of marine based outdoor activities with some Irish language modules. It is a unique combination of a Gaeltacht experience combined with investigation and enjoyment of our marine surroundings.
6 days on Cape – arrive Sunday 11th and depart afternoon Friday 16th.
Attend course between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
This course is focused on maritime issues including marine ecology, social history of human interaction with the sea, climate change issues, etc along with water based activities.
It’s a course where enquiry, investigation and research is scheduled and supported by expert biologists and mariners.
Participants will be encouraged to question, record, examine and interrogate their marine environment. Many parts will be directly linked to the school curriculum. They will have a comprehensive portfolio of their work and activities by the end of the week!
It’s self-catered to allow for Covid precautions so adult(s) will be with the participating child. Children from more than one family can come with the one adult if families make that arrangement. Places are very limited so do contact us soon if you have any questions.
Price for week per participant, includes course fee, tuition, guest speakers,
supervision and all outdoor equipment = €250 & accommodation = €85;
Price for week per accompanying adult inc accommodation and their access to commercial kitchen – €125;
