Upcoming courses
start 11th june 2023
Maratacht is a comprehensive course with a combination of marine based outdoor activities Some Irish language modules are built in to the experience in a practical, experiential way. It is a unique combination of a Gaeltacht experience combined with investigation and enjoyment of our marine surroundings.
7 days / 6 nights on Cape – arrive Sunday on evening ferry from Baltimore and depart the following Saturday on midday ferry.
This course is focused on maritime issues including marine ecology, social history of human interaction with the sea, and climate change issues along with water based activities.
It’s a course where enquiry, investigation and research is scheduled and supported by expert biologists and mariners.
Participants will be encouraged to question, record, examine and interrogate their marine environment. Many parts will be directly linked to the school curriculum. They will have a comprehensive portfolio of their work and activities by the end of the week!
We’re hoping that COVID worries will be but a memory by summer 2023 so accommodation will be in small dormitories – supervised with staff on site overnight.
Price per participant, includes accommodation, full board, course fee, tuition, guest speakers,
24hr supervision and all outdoor equipment = €750
